I finished that painting right on time before the tornado sirenes started. This painting complements the weather outside even tough I initially started it with the "river of life" in mind. Sometimes smooth, sometimes interrupted and torn, our lives unfold mostly not planned. But whatever is going on outside, the inner life can be calm and peaceful!

While painting and thinking about Ephesians, I had an idea in mind how it should turn out. But it happened to look different. As I considered I wondered if I had to change my first idea. Then I changed the colors and more layers were added.
“Isn’t God himself doing this kind of work in my life as well, if I let him change me? Isn’t he in constant work, adding paint layers, removing parts thus his bright and brilliant colors may expressed through me”.
under the tree
acrylic on canvas
15x20 inches
680 Dollars, comes with a white frame
I was asked to paint a cover for the gospel of John series in a Church - what an honor! As I was thinking about what to paint, what would represent this book the best, a tree came to mind. Nathaniel under a tree where he was in a desperate situation, standing, waiting - and God saw him. Isn't that what the gospel is all about, being seen by God? So that tree leads us to our personal life questions, where we struggle and wait under «our» tree. No matter what, at just the right time, He sees us!
This painting is currently on display at Merci's refuge, Champaign.
"remain"
acrylic on canvas
8x16 inches
230 Dollars, unframed
While I was painting the grapes this thought came to my mind: “It was a long, persistent effort to form circle after circle of grapes. One after the other. But the goal, the idea of the vine was always in front of my eyes, the whole time. And that’s it: It needs the daily orientation of God, the view of him. And the help for the realization we find in the Holy Spirit. Then our fruit will grow, while remaining in Him”.
"open door"
acrylic on canvas
12x16 inches
190 Dollars, unframed
Life often seems dark and like a closed door. All with fog and no sun. A room without light.
But, if we open the door just a little bit - the light will brighten the room, the sun starts shining through the clouds and we start to see there is more.
